Americans celebrate 4th July, Independence Day

Almost 800 guests - American and Polish business-people, AmCham members, diplomats and their families gathered at the beautiful surrounding of the Królikarnia Palace garden on Saturday, July 3, to celebrate the 234th Anniversary of American Independence. The evening started with a presentation of colors accompanied by very moving American and Polish anthem performances done by two little kids – Zosia and Max, followed by speeches delivered by US Commercial Counselor, Jim Wilson, AmCham Chairman, Roman Rewald and AmCham Board Member, Tony Housh. Prime Minister Waldemar Pawlak also delivered a short speech on the stage. Guests enjoyed an evening of live music, great food delivered by Sheraton and McDonalds, unlimited amounts of drinks provided by Coca-Cola, Pepsi, Brown Forman, CEDC and Browary Namyslow. The young enjoyed a Kid’s Corner put together by Universal Express and Express Relocations. Other attractions of the evening included an amazing show of lantern lights racing through the air celebrating AmCham’s 20th Anniversary and of course a charity raffle. This year in addition to helping children from 9 orphanages and 2 single mother homes all across Poland, AmCham decided to donate part of its profits from the raffle to help Wielka Orkiestra Swiatecznej Pomocy (eng. Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity) run by Jurek Owsiak and Ewa Błaszczyk’s Foundation.
